Foolishly In Love

L always thought love was a foolish thing, but that was until he met Light Yagami. He knew having feelings for a prime suspect was wrong, but love had no boundaries. No matter how illogical and inappropriate it seemed. The Auburn-haired teen had an impact on L that no one has had before. L was the awkward and anti-social type, but he had feelings too. Many people in past cases always said he was inhuman. Well that was about to change.

L had been trying for a while to tell Light how he felt and the handcuffs bounding them together didn't help much. He decided today was the day he was going to tell Light how he felt. L looked over at Light, who was typing away at his computer. L grew nervous from just looking at him. He sighed and sat there in his usual position, poking at his cake with his fork.

"Are you alright, Ryuzaki? You have barely eaten any of your cake. That's not like you.", Light said, genuinely concerned. The detective's onyx eyes met the teen's caramel ones. "I'm fine…I just have a lot on my mind lately.", L continued to pick at his cake. Light sighed. "You can tell me. It's just us here.", he informed the raven-haired man.

Perhaps this was his perfect chance. The other members of the Task Force went home for the night and wouldn't be back until tomorrow morning. "Well…I…Um…", L choked. He didn't know what to say. The World's greatest detective felt like he was making a complete fool of himself in front of the one person he didn't want to embarrass himself in front of.

"Yes?", the teen tried to coax L to spit out what he was trying to say. L's face looked flushed and he tugged at the collar of his long-sleeved shirt. He truly wasn't good at expressing his emotions. Light eyed him suspiciously, wondering what was going on with the eccentric detective.

Light knew L was a bit strange and awkward, but he had never seen him act like this before. "Are you sure you are alright? You looked flushed.", he asked with concern apparent in his voice. The teen placed a hand on the pale man's forehead. "You feel a bit warm.", he gasped. L could feel himself blushing harder. "I-I'm fine. Really.", L stuttered out slightly.

"You could be coming down with something. Maybe I should call Wa-", Light was suddenly interrupted by L's stern voice. "No. That's not what it is.", he informed the other genius. Light huffed. "Ryuzaki! Stop being so damn stubborn and-", the teen was interrupted again by L yanking the chain, pulling Light close to him. It was Light's turn to blush. "W-What the hell, Ryuzaki?! What is with you today?!", the auburn-haired boy shouted.

L crashed their lips together in response. This caught the Kira suspect off guard, but he soon found himself returning the kiss. The detective's mouth tasted like sugar. The kiss turned passionate and Light wrapped his arms around L's neck. The older man responded by wrapping his arms around the other's waist.

The kiss finally broke and they just stared at one another. "I love you. That is what I have been trying to tell you for a while now.", L said softly. Light blushed heavily. "B-But I'm your prime suspect.", he stammered. The detective chuckled. "I know and I don't care. I'm just a fool in love.", L smiled slightly. The teen returned the smile and tenderly placed his hand on L's pale cheek. "Yeah, but you're my fool.", Light said as he pulled L in for another kiss.
